About Amanda
Amanda has deep ties to Cherry Creek Schools and both of her children have attended schools in the district. She has volunteered countless hours in classrooms, reading to students, organizing fundraising events, and planning and leading celebrations. She has chaperoned field trips, worked with neighbors on Parent-Teacher Organizations (PTOs), and is a member of the District Accountability Committee focusing on increasing parent and community engagement.
Amanda’s love of public education was nurtured by her mom who was a special education teacher. Amanda has an education degree and has been a substitute teacher. She even won the CCSD Exceptional Volunteer Award for her service to our students, staff, and community.
Amanda has spent most of her career building business strategies, improving processes, and keeping an eagle eye on finances in large organizations. Amanda is now eager to use her skills and experience as a business leader, mother, and child of a teacher to make our schools even better.
Opportunities
Improving Student Achievement — Amanda will make sure our schools stay focused on subjects and skills that will prepare our kids to succeed. She will ensure investments are made in improving academics and providing opportunities for all students.
Prioritizing Parent Partnerships — Amanda will honor parents, teachers, and students’ perspectives to create a more collaborative and transparent approach to education. She will work to establish genuine partnerships between homes and schools.
Supporting Teachers and Staff — Our teachers and staff work hard to keep our kids safe and give them the educational opportunities they deserve. Amanda will work to make sure staff members have the support they need to give our kids the best learning experience possible.
Expanding Community Engagement — Amanda will work to increase engagement of our community organizations, expand internships, increase career and technical pathways, and innovate to support our traditions of excellence.
Creating Fiscal Accountability — Amanda will prioritize fiscal responsibility and ensure the funds we have are allocated to improving achievement and increasing student opportunities. You can count on her to make sure your tax dollars actually do what you want them to do — improve our students’ education.
